James Montgomery, Regional Director of Operations, Southwest Region

James Montgomery, Regional Director of Operations, Southwest Region, blends multi-year operational experience with an exceptional culinary background to create efficiency, outstanding banquet and function menus and service and profitability in both the front and heart of the house. A native of Pittsburgh, PA. Montgomery specializes in streamlined operations, food and beverage creativity and overall strong leadership in hospitality through direction, experience and example.

A graduate of the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Culinary Federation apprenticeship program, Montgomery began his career in food and beverage serving as executive chef at The Weekapaug Inn. From there, he held management positions with The Registry Hotel, HSC Hospitality Inc., Hilton Hotels Corporation and Culinaire International. His duties included culinary, operations, general management and regional operations management.

Montgomery's savvy and keen business sense allows for flexibility in management serving the needs of both guest and TEAM member. As a standard, Montgomery is hands-on with all operations and culinary phases of the industry. He formerly served as General Manager of the Hilton Garden Inn Dallas/Allen where, after one year, had grown sales and profitability by 28% and had the hotel recognized by Hilton Hotels Corporation with "The Spirit of Pride Award" in 2003.

He currently serves as General Manager of the Hilton Garden Inn Dallas/Lewisville which opened in 2008, and oversees operation of Hampton Inn and Suite Dallas/Allen, Hilton Garden Inn Dallas/Duncanville and Hilton Garden Inn Dallas/Allen. Montgomery is also responsible for directing the successful development and operation of several projects in the Dallas area including the Hyatt Place, Garland, Texas, scheduled to open August, 2009.
